Jesus
03:05
|
|||
That night was silent
There was a holy presence
An infant leapt in the womb
Another destined for the tomb
A miracle birth, our Savior
A virgin appointed by the Lord
Merry Christmas
Mary delivered Jesus
So He would
Deliver the world
Merry Christmas
Mary delivered Jesus
So He would
Deliver the world
That night was divine
With a star as their guide
The wise bore the finest gifts
For the King of holiness
In the beginning with God was the Word
For God so loved the world, He’ll return
Merry Christmas
Mary delivered Jesus
So He would
Deliver the world
Merry Christmas
Mary delivered Jesus
So He would
Deliver the world
Yaweh in a manger
Lie our Savior
Yaweh in a manger
Lie our Savior
Merry Christmas
Mary delivered Jesus
So He would
Deliver the world
Merry Christmas
Mary delivered Jesus
So He would
Deliver the world

Christmas Spirit
03:00
|
|||
Get the chill out
Be an open fire
And don’t pout
Just be merrier
In this season
There’s comfort and there’s joy
Though in good fun
It’s not about the toys
There’s no sale that can save our souls
Jesus was born to save us from the coals
Why do we bypass the thankfulness
We’re losing the meaning of Christmas
Not about the presents under the tree’s lights
It’s about the presence of Jesus Christ
It doesn’t really matter what’s on my wishlist
‘Cause that’s not the spirit of Christmas
Not naughty, be nice
Don’t be a ghost
Be warm through the ice
Be a good host
Write a letter
Not of wishes
Freeze the bitter
Share the kindness
There’s no sale that can save our souls
Jesus was born to save us from the coals
Why do we bypass the thankfulness
We’re losing the meaning of Christmas
Not about the presents under the tree’s lights
It’s about the presence of Jesus Christ
It doesn’t really matter what’s on my wishlist
‘Cause that’s not the spirit of Christmas
The Christmas spirit is the love
The Christmas spirit is Jesus
Holy spirit cover those who grieve
This time of year isn’t always happy
To all of the people who are in need
Please bring consolation and peace
Why do we bypass the thankfulness
We’re losing the meaning of Christmas
Not about the presents under the tree’s lights
It’s about the presence of Jesus Christ
It doesn’t really matter what’s on my wishlist
‘Cause that’s not the spirit of Christmas
The Christmas spirit is the love
The Christmas spirit is Jesus

Faded Ornaments
03:05
|
|||
Decorations
This time of year
Unpack the boxes
Out from the attic
Reminiscence
Bittersweet tears
Discolored plastic
Still has the magic
Those feelings were so warm
Despite the temperature outdoors
Holding on to my youth
And celebrating the truth
Though they’re faded ornaments
They hold memories of Christmas
And it may never feel the same
I’ll still use them to decorate
Recollection of Christmastime
Faded ornaments revive that child
Deck the house with
All those faded ornaments
Expectations
Holiday fears
Wood is broken
Glass in fragments
Anticipation
Seasonal cheer
No matter the condition
It’s sentimental
Those feelings were so warm
Despite the temperature outdoors
Holding on to my youth
And celebrating the truth
Though they’re faded ornaments
They hold memories of Christmas
And it may never feel the same
I’ll still use them to decorate
Recollection of Christmastime
Faded ornaments revive that child
Deck the house with
All those faded ornaments
Disappointing when it’s over
Back to normal life, holiday sober
Keep the joy that was gifted
No returns, keep the spirits lifted
Though they’re faded ornaments
They hold memories of Christmas
And it may never feel the same
I’ll still use them to decorate
Recollection of Christmastime
Faded ornaments revive that child
Deck the house with
All those faded ornaments

Sickness for Christmas
03:20
|
|||
Every year those I love ask me
What’s upon my wishlist
I feel so undeserving
Never know in the moment
And I don’t need anything,
But I still want everything
I know it’s not about possessions
Already have many things
Still wonder what they will bring
I know I’ll still ask for them
Instead of wrapping Christmas gifts
Was wrapping myself in blankets
Thought, "I'd rather have the coal
Than this cold in the cold"
Illness wasn't on my wish list but
Ironically that Christmas I loved
I got sickness for Christmas
I got sickness for Christmas
I received all I asked for
Maybe it was a little too much
Because I was given more
Such as a fever to run
It was humbling and so sore
All of this I cannot ignore
Somehow it was still so much fun
Maybe it was from the medicine
Instead of wrapping Christmas gifts
Was wrapping myself in blankets
Thought, "I'd rather have the coal
Than this cold in the cold"
Illness wasn't on my wish list but
Ironically that Christmas I loved
I got sickness for Christmas
I got sickness for Christmas
Stuffing my stockings
Stuffy nose and coughing
Pictures don’t capture
Our feverish temperatures
A memorable Christmas
Thanks to this illness
I got sickness
For Christmas
Instead of wrapping Christmas gifts
Was wrapping myself in blankets
Thought, "I'd rather have the coal
Than this cold in the cold"
Illness wasn't on my wish list but
Ironically that Christmas I loved
I got sickness for Christmas
I got sickness for Christmas

Florida Winter
02:30
|
|||
Where I’m from you know
It’s not like the movies’ weather
A white Christmas but no snow
It’s a Florida winter
The folklore and traditions still apply
Even if it may be warm outside
The fronts come and go
The sand is our snow
It’s hot then it’s cold
Humid chills to the bone
While they’re dreaming
Of a Christmas that’s white
We’re praying it’s not raining
And that there’s sunshine
It’s a Florida winter
It’s a Florida winter
It’s cold before and after Christmas
At least that’s how it seems to be
I hear snow is beautiful but tiresome
I guess we battle humidity
The folklore and traditions still apply
Even if we only pretend it’s icy outside
The fronts come and go
The sand is our snow
It’s hot then it’s cold
Humid chills to the bone
While they’re dreaming
Of a Christmas that’s white
We’re praying it’s not raining
And that there’s sunshine
It’s a Florida winter
It’s a Florida winter
‘Tis all the seasons
In a single day
But there’s still reason
For us celebrate
Southern hospitality
Makes for good tidings
And a joyful holiday
Can y’all relate?
The fronts come and go
The sand is our snow
It’s hot then it’s cold
Humid chills to the bone
While they’re dreaming
Of a Christmas that’s white
We’re praying it’s not raining
And that there’s sunshine
It’s a Florida winter
It’s a Florida winter
